Check Knee Room and Chair Placement

A central pedestal can reduce interference from legs around the table’s perimeter. The amount of usable space still depends on the base’s width and how far the tabletop extends beyond it.

Before choosing your size, consider:

• Knee and foot space: Look at the pedestal’s widest point and its position beneath each seat.

• Chair width: Wider upholstered chairs need more space around the table than compact dining chairs.

• Arm clearance: Compare armrest height with the underside of the tabletop and any supporting structure.

• Room clearance: Aim for approximately 36 inches between the table edge and nearby walls or furniture, with additional space along busy walkways.

For a round table, 28–32 inches is a practical starting point for two diners. For four, compare the 36–48-inch options against your actual chair dimensions. Seating capacity depends on the complete arrangement, so confirm the fit before ordering.

Solid Walnut and Beech, With Different Finish Choices

Solid walnut brings rich brown tones and visible grain to the tabletop and base. Designs such as Aven, Alya, Mason and Avero suit modern dining spaces where you want the wood and the shape of the support to remain visible.

Solid beech offers a finer grain and a different range of colour possibilities. The Dorel beech model is available in Natural, Black and Walnut finishes. These are finish choices on solid beech; the Walnut finish describes the colour, while the underlying wood remains beech.

When choosing a sculptural pedestal dining table, consider how much of the base your chairs will reveal. Open-back chairs leave more of the form visible, while upholstered seating creates a softer, more enclosed arrangement.

Natural grain and colour vary between individual pieces. Your finished table will have its own markings, and we share photographs before dispatch for your approval.

Our tables are handcrafted to order, with production typically taking 3–4 weeks. Once your furniture is ready, we send photographs for approval before arranging dispatch.

Shipping time is additional to production. Transit typically takes 7–10 calendar days after dispatch, depending on the destination. If you need your table by a particular date, contact us before ordering to confirm the current estimate.

Can I use a bench with a double-pedestal dining table?

Yes, provided the bench dimensions work with the table’s supports and overhang. Selected Dorel Oval configurations offer a “+ Bench” option. Check the included components and confirm the space between the pedestals if you want the bench to tuck beneath the table.

Does a pedestal dining table require assembly?

Assembly requirements vary by model. Many designs arrive with the tabletop and base components separated, with hardware and instructions for assembly. Check the product details and measure doorways, stairs and the route into your dining room before delivery.
